Power and Politics in Africa Website

Design and build an easy-to-maintain multi-lingual content-managed website for the Politics and Power in Africa Project.

The Politics and Power in Africa Program is a DFID funded consortium of research organisations and policy think-tanks in Africa and the West. They had a requirement for a managed multi-lingual website to disseminate the results of their research work.

The Power and Plitics in Africa Content-Managed Website

Design criteria were drawn-up through discussions with the PPPA Team, and the site was constructed.

The site comprised a front-end to be viewed by visitors to the site, and a back-end for use by site Administrators in publishing content. Features include:

• A Page Component for managing versioned copies of site pages in multiple languages.
• A News Component for publishing press-release style articles via the site sidebar and an RSS feed.
• An Events Component for publishing forthcoming events in a calendar framework via the site sidebar and a webCal feed
• A Documents Component to allow dissemination of project outputs in pdf and other document formats.
• An Image Management Component to manage upload and display of images on the site.
• A Registration Component, allowing visitors to the site to register their interest in the project's work.
