RiPPLE Website and e-Library

To design and build a content managed website and integrated eLibrary for the RiPPLE project, aiming to manage the project's own publications plus general sector information within a single electronic space.

RiPPLE Ethiopia is a multi-stakeholder research project funded by DFID researching the role of water and poverty in Nile Region states. The project required a single web-platform to organise and disseminate its research findings.

Working with a graphic designer and the RiPPLE Team, the project involved the following components:

  • Advanced page CMS to allow multiple website editors to work concurrently on the site with rollback of page versions.
  • eLibrary to support the upload , download, search and easy classification of any kind of document with varying degrees of access
  • Google Maps and Google Earth components to display geo-information about eLibrary items
  • RSS feeds to distribute RiPPLE News and Events to alternative websites.

The website was delivered in Summer 2008.
